INFORMATION ABOUT FOODBORNE ILLNESSES

General information about food poisoning and foodborne illnesses can be found on a Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection website, Food Programs: (https://portal.ct.gov/DCP/Food-and-Standards-Division/Food–Standards/Food-Safety-What-Consumers-Should-Know). Information on food safety including information on foodborne illnesses can be found at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration website, http://www.fda.gov/Food/FoodborneIllnessContaminants/default.htm.

IF YOU THINK YOU HAVE A FOODBORNE ILLNESS

Town health directors investigate possible incidents of foodborne illnesses. If you believe you have been made ill from consuming food or beverages from a food service facility, you should report the incident to your town of residence’s health department (not to the health department in the town where the food service facility is located).
