WHAT IS A LOCKOUT?
A lockout is when a landlord attempts to prevent a tenant from accessing his/her apartment, without a court order. A landlord might do this by changing the locks, keeping your belongings, or doing anything else to keep you out of your home. For more information on the issues involved in a criminal lockout, see “Eviction” at CTLawHelp.org
