SERAC-CT – Suicide Prevention and Naloxone Training Class – 12-20-2023

SERAC-CT, an organization devoted to suicide prevention, is sponsoring a free educational gatekeeper course. The single-session course will be offered from 9:30am-11am every other Wednesday from November 8 through December 20.

The course will be offered both in person at 228 W Town Street, Norwich and via Zoom. It includes training in naloxone (Narcan) administration and takes approximately one hour to complete. Topics include: 

• how to question, persuade and refer someone who may be suicidal
• how to help for yourself or learn more about preventing suicide
• the common causes of suicidal behavior
• the warning signs of suicide
• how to get help for someone in crisis
• how to recognize an opioid overdose
• how to administer naloxone and care for individuals until emergency services arrive
