The public is invited to attend one of five free virtual trainings in the administration of naloxone, a medication that rapidly reverses an opioid overdose.
Naloxone is commonly known by one of its brand names, Narcan. It can save lives if administered promptly.
The virtual trainings are sponsored by the City of Meriden and Rushford, an area mental health and addiction treatment facility. In 2023, they will be held at the following times:
April 5, 5:30pm-6:30pm
May 2, 9am -10am
June 7, 5:30pm-6:30pm
July 5, 9am-10am
August 2, 5:30pm-6:30pm

Participants will receive a Narcan kit, CPR face shield, medication disposal bag, medication lock box, and more.
