SUMMARY:New Britain Eye Health Fair - 6-3-2025
DESCRIPTION:The public is invited to the New Britain Eye Health Fair to be held Tuesday\, June 3\, from 11am-2pm. \nThe event is designed to empower individuals with vision impairments by offering information\, access to resources\, and opportunities to connect with supportive services aimed at improving eye health and overall well-being. \nThose living with cataracts\, glaucoma\, macular degeneration\, blindness\, or other vision impairments are encouraged to attend\, as are caregivers. \nIn addition to community resources\, the fair will showcase the artwork of Kristen Dockendorff\, a blind artist and the honorary speaker for the event. It will feature free items and giveaways. \nAmong the 15 participating vendors and speakers are The Connecticut Library for Accessible Books\, Vanda Pharmaceuticals (focused on Non-24 (Hour) Sleep-Wake Disorder)\, the Southeast CT Community Center of the Blind\, and the Connecticut National Federation of the Blind. \nUR Community Cares in collaboration with the New Britain Housing Authority and New Britain Recreation and Community Services\, are organizing the event. It is sponsored by EverCare of Connecticut Home Care and the Connecticut Tech Act Project. \nUR Community Cares is also collaborating with RiseUp for Arts in developing the outdoor community space at the event venue. \nFor more information\, contact Michelle Puzzo at 860-430-4557 or info@urcommunitycares.org.
