DESCRIPTION:Stamford Public Library will host a health and wellness presentation from noon-1pm\, Tuesday\, January 23\, in the library’s third-floor auditorium\, 1 Public Library Plaza in Stamford. \nThe program will feature a brief discussion about meditation practice\, a guided meditation\, and a chance to share and reflect. It is appropriate for all levels of practice. \nParticipants are asked to arrive at least 5 minutes early to allow time for connecting to the community and to ensure that the presentation begins on time. \nThe health and wellness program is presented in partnership with the Network of the National Library of Medicine.

DESCRIPTION:The Connecticut Department of Aging and Disability Services’ State Unit on Aging (SUA) is holding a series of nine community conversations to solicit feedback about services for the aging in Connecticut. An emphasis will be placed on services funded by the Older Americans Act. \nThe second conversation will be Tuesday\, January 23\, from 11am-1pm at Thrive 55+ Active Living Center\, 102 Newtown Road in Groton. \nOlder people\, caregivers\, network professionals\, and advocates are all invited to participate in any of these events. Their feedback will be used to inform a plan of action for the next three years. \nAdditional listening sessions\, including an online-only session on March 11\, will be held in the coming weeks. \nThose unable to attend a session who want to provide input\, may call 866-218-6631 or email agingstateplan@ct.gov \nFor another way to offer feedback\, please complete the SUA’s supports and services survey at https://ads-sua-forms.ct.gov/232885822139060 \nRegistration for all in-person discussions is requested but not required.
