Below are the links to local, state and federal disaster information & resources available to Connecticut residents regarding the recent tropical storm.
Local Resources:
- Cooling Centers: For a list of cooling centers that have opened across the state, click HERE and then enter your zip code or town and press the yellow search icon.
- Charging Stations: For a list of locations that have opened as cell phone charging stations, click HERE and then enter your zip code or town and press the yellow search icon.
- Bulk Water Distribution: For a list of locations where a public water spigot or hose is available for residents to collect water, click HERE and then enter your zip code or town and press the yellow search icon.
- Food Resources: Individuals in need of emergency food can access a list of food pantries that provide food at no cost by clicking HERE, and review a list of other available food programs HERE. Free summer meals for families with children can be found at https://www.endhungerct.org/services/summer-meals/.
- Homeowners/renters who lost food as a result of the storm are encouraged to contact their insurance company to discuss potential reimbursement.
- SNAP (food stamps) recipients who lost food due to the storm should contact their local community action agency to inquire about replacement SNAP benefits. Click HERE and then enter your zip code or town and press the yellow search icon to find your community action agency.
**NOTE: If there isn’t a formal cooling center listed in a particular town, individuals can call their public library, senior center, or town hall to see if they may be open to residents for cooling and/or charging.
