Plainville Adult and Continuing Education will offer Boot Camp for New Dads, a community-based workshop, that supports the transition to fatherhood. This dynamic workshop will be conducted by trained Instructor, fostering mentorship among expectant fathers and new fathers, resulting in inspirational comradery among a diverse group, aiming to help develop confident, engaged dads. The program has been in existence for over 30 years, and has graduated over 500,000 men. Currently, Boot Camp for New Dads is regularly available in 44 states, on U.S. military bases, Canada, and the U.K. The Boot Camp for New Dads workshop will be delivered during a single, 3-hour session, early evenings at Plainville High, in mid October and will repeat in early December. Topics include: baby blues, calming a crying baby, dealing with pets, dealing with stress, developing one’s own style, diapering, safety, schedules, and more. There will be time for discussion, and questions and answers. All participants will receive a book, Crash Course for Dads-To-Be. The tuition is $8.00 per person, with full tuition scholarships available for anyone in need.
