The Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities (CHRO) will present results from the recently completed statewide Equity Study at a Community Access and Equity Fair on May 1 from 9:30am to 3pm at the State Armory in Hartford. The public is invited.
The study examined programs and policies across 23 state agencies to identify inequalities in the outcomes for underserved communities and made recommendations for improvements.
The program will address efforts to increase community accessibility to programs and services and include panel discussions on transparency and equity. A question-and-answer session will follow, as well as the opportunity for participants to provide feedback.
Participants will have the opportunity to visit exhibit booths and learn about and sign up for state and local services. Lunch will be provided at no charge.
The CHRO will provide free bus transportation to the event from communities throughout the state.
The CHRO is hosting the fair in partnership with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
