Looking to dispose of your unwanted medications? Charter Oak International Academy in West Hartford will take part in National Drug Take Back Day from 10am-2pm, April 22, at the school, 425 Oakwood Avenue (enter the parking lot via Flatbush Avenue). This is an anonymous drive-through event.
Drug Take Back Day is an opportunity to dispose of unneeded, unused or expired medications that otherwise may not be properly disposed of or could be misused.
The organizers ask that all medications be removed from prescription bottles for disposal to eliminate identifying information. They recommend using sealed plastic bags to transport the unwanted meds.
For more information on drug disposal, contact the West Hartford/Bloomfield Health District at 860-561-7900 or the West Hartford Police Department at 860-570-8845.
