The North Central Area Agency on Aging will hold its annual meeting and keynote address on Thursday, April 13 from 1pm-3pm. Entitled “Medicare and the LGBTQ+ Community: What Advocates Need to Know,” the event will be held virtually. The featured speakers will be representatives from Justice in Aging, an organization dedicated to fighting senior poverty, and SAGE, which serves LGBTQ+ elders.

Learning objectives: 1) Improve LGBTQ+ consumers’ experience in accessing care/information from Connecticut’s elder network by building and/or improving providers’ awareness and acuity. 2) Specifically address multiple benefit programs and potential pitfalls from the perspective of LGBTQ+ consumers and 3) Familiarize NCAAA’s partners with available resources and encourage cross-sector networking.
