Opioid and Heroin Addition – A South Windsor Community Conversation

This epidemic affects ALL of us.  Let’s start a conversation and learn valuable information from those with expertise and experience.  Each panelist will speak and then there will be time for discussion at the end of the program.

Featured Speaker:

John Lally, APRN: A Psychiatric nurse and President of Today I Matter, Inc., a non-profit organization founded in the memory if his Timothy, who died from a heroin overdose in 2016.

Panelists:

Officer Kevin Geraci: SW Police Officer with advanced training as a Drug Recognition Officer.  He will discuss current trends, statistics and the departments Narcan program.

Chief Marc Montminy: Chief of Police in Manchester, CT.  His department brought the CT HOPE ( Heroin and Opioid Prevention  and Education) initiative to our area and will speak, along with Sarah Howroyd, will discuss how this program can help our communities.

Narcotics Anonymous: A member will talk about how recovery is possible and how NA works through a 12 step program, including regular attendance at group meetings.

Donna Camerota, LCSW: Clinical Program Director at Community Health Resources.  Donna will speak about CHR’s response to Opioid addition, services they provide including medication assisted treatment and support to families.
