Webinar on Connecticut Leave Laws

The Connecticut Department of Labor’s webinar, “Putting the Puzzle Together: The Interaction of CT Leave Laws,” is still open for registration.

Hosted by the DOL’s Business Engagement Unit, the free webinar will take place Thursday, August 17th from 9am to 11:30am on Zoom. It will focus on the complexities surrounding leave laws in Connecticut.

Speakers will be Heidi Lane, legal director at the Connecticut Department of Labor, and Ellen McKitterick and Brendan Mahoney, staff attorneys.

Topics include:

• Eligibility criteria for employees under leave laws in CT, specifically CTPL, CT FMLA, and federal FMLA and Paid Sick Leave
• The amount of leave time to which an eligible employee is entitled under each law
• Differing definitions between leave laws
• Employer and employee responsibilities under relevant CT laws
