The following information has been summarized from the Greater Hartford Regional School Choice Office (RSCO) webpage: https://portal.ct.gov/SDE/School-Choice/RSCO/Regional-School-Choice-Office-Home-Page
The Greater Hartford Regional School Choice Office (RSCO) was created by the Connecticut State Department of Education to assist families interested in learning about, and applying to, RSCO schools and programs located in the Greater Hartford region. The RSCO staff provide families with the information they need to make timely and informed decisions about their student’s public school choice options given the child’s age and interests.
What RSCO does: RSCO manages the application and placement process for magnet schools, the Open Choice Program, and Hartford technical high schools in the greater Hartford region.
Through the RSCO online application, families apply to magnet schools, Open Choice districts, and Hartford Region Technical High Schools (part of the Connecticut Technical Education and Career System (CTECS)). RSCO sends families placement information about their school choice selections beginning in February for CTECS applicants and in March for magnet school, Open Choice and CTECS selections.
Application and Placement Process:
For more information on the application and placement process, including application deadlines, contact the RSCO office staff at rsco.sde@ct.gov or 860-713-6990.
