The goal of this “Get Your Refund CT” Initiative is assist Connecticut families that may be eligible for Federal and State Earned Income Tax Credits, Child, and Education Tax Credits that they did not apply for in previous tax filings and may be owed money from their tax refund. During COVID, the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 provided the enhanced 2021 Child Tax Credit, where taxpayers with dependents were eligible for additional credits at the end of 2021. This initiative is assisting families who are unaware, even if they did not file a return or aren’t sure if eligible, with verifying past IRS filings and then assist with applying for these funds.

Visit the website to schedule a virtual (quickest way to file) or in-person appointment until November 15, 2024 and again appointments will be accepted starting in mid-January, 2025. This program is funded by the Enhanced COVID Tax benefits and will expire on April 15, 2025.
