Definition of Truant
Current law (https://www.cga.ct.gov/2017/pub/chap_168.htm#sec_10-198a) defines a “truant” as a child between the ages of five and 18 who is enrolled in a public or private school and has four unexcused school absences in a month or 10 in any school year.
